Here you can see the first dress I recently sewed.
It has elastic bands for a good fit and still needs to be printed with illustrations.
I especially like this kind of dress for hot summer days. It automatically looks sweet and lovely, hides little tummies loaded with ice cream and has a very female touch.
Plus one can be really artistic….
Maybe I put a fake moustache on the end of the bias binding next time
Tomorrow I will buy the colors for the print and do a little experimenting.
Hmm, I also think we have been quite lucky to catch a day full of sunshine. Seems like May isn´t what it used to be.
Rain rain rain.

Times are hard. The economy is down. The financial system has gone nuts. Job rate is low low low. Money has taken a vacation and we don´t know when it´s coming back.
Ablablabla, I guess you´ve seen the news. Or read the papers. Or simply are still alive at these times.
It seems like one should almost have a guilty conscience about even having a job. How dare you? Someone else could have it and survive!
Well, I thought I could be a little human. I quit my job to give it to somebody else in need. I am fed up with the bad news all the time.
I will be daring and start to be self sufficient.
Yaaaay, everyone party!!!!
….
But wait. How should this even work? I mean, do I have what it takes? Can I make it?
I am 24, I have never done such a thing! Am I crazy? How and why and and and….. STOP IT!!!
I have to be positive about this! There should be nothing diminishing my plans, the very last me myself!
If I have negative thoughts, many others will follow. But it also works the other way around.
This was proved by Suzi Blu and everyone at the Les Petit Academy.
I wrote a blogpost there about my plans.
Next thing I know is that I find a public message to all members by Suzi, telling everyone about my story.
The courage rising in me was unbelievable. I never knew how much energy one can get out of this support at that phase of life.
All that insecurity that gathered inside of me all of a sudden is gone.
I love and feel loved and what is there more than this astonishing feeling of being appreciated for what one does and is.
All I can say is thank you.
Thank you all out there who support me mentally. Who are there to tell me that everything is ok the way I do it.
This is unbelievable.
Let´s take the journey!

When it comes down to embroidery my mind goes back to the times in kindergarden,
where I spent hours with needle and thread to produce a quirky house and a sun.
Mothers tend to love their cildren´s work in general (or at least they pretend to),
but most of us have bad memories about this juvenile phase of handicraft.
Not so Cathy Cullis. Here work is honest, pure and filled with emotions.
She likes to experiment with dyes on linen, which makes her objects very vivid.
But have a look at it yourself.
I don´t like dolls too much, but these ones are an exception.
And by the way, this is her shop.

As I have mentioned before: winter is fun! We also want doggies, kitties and birdies to have their joy.
If you want to help out, here is what you can do:
1. the doggie-shirt
Especially small dogs tend to get cold even inside the house, because their tummy is so close to the floor
and as long as you don´t have an underfloor heating, it might be a good idea to have an antidote.
2. the acorn-birdfeeder
Watching those little sparrows and tits happily picking for food is just as relaxing as staring into an aquarium.
I don´t know wether I should say that this is a plus for birdies or kittens, but do make sure that the feeder is out of reach.
3. the cat-shelve
When it gets cold, our living hot-water bag tends to stay in the house and get bored.
Mostly the sofa and the armchair are victims of their claws.
Moderncat reader Eva has found a way to entertain her small friends and bring them to eye height.
Have a sore back? Then this is perfect for you.
