Hello guys,
last weekend we enjoyed some public music at our neighbourhood and we especially looked forward to one of the bands on the last day called > “Garish”. While they played their melodios music with a teaspoon of melancholy, I took my cam to take a fast panorama shot of this public scenery and despite of the bad 8pm lightning I think it shows the mood of all the different assembled people

I know it’s late, but finally here are some impressions of a small choosen group of fashion designers which are an inspiration for us.
First of all we have to say a big wow to the organizers and hosts of the event.
For the eighth time Cloed Priscilla Baumgartner and Jasmin Ladenhaufen put a lot of sweat and time into the show.
Here you can see exhibition architecture, a two-floor walk-in show palace with stages.
It has been conceived by Andi Lackner and the crew of perfect props and is simply amazing.
We thought the km/a collection was very extraordinary, but still wearable.
It is a nice mixture of punk and sailor and surely a lot of work.

Birgit Rampula from Amateur La Boutique joined the Modepalast for the third time
and said that it was simply great to be there.
You will be able to read a bit more about her soon.
We especially liked the idea of Junikind´s multi-purposed clothes.
As you can see there are several ways to wear this dress/skirt/top.
The fabrics are awesome, using restrained and pretty floral patterns.
And oh yeah, a Yellow Submarine skirt. The perfect wedding dress, I guess ![]()
Many more of these crazy clothes can be found at Piratin.
All in all one can see that there is a lot of organisation and work at the Modepalast.
Even though it was said that people should not recognize the difference between green and normal labels, we would have liked to see some kind of mark.
Thinking green is a better way for the future and it should be visible.
The thought of “green is different in a weird way” will not vanish through hiding it.
Still one has to say that focusing on green labels inside of the fashion territory is not a common thing and therefor good to do.

Spring is coming and it’s time for a new year full of fresh photography. To take our enjoyment to the next level we will also get some fresh gear for our cameras. For steady shots a light-weight tripod, for smooth time-lapse captures a digital-timer cable trigger and last but not least the ultimate portable camera-dolly.
1) light-weight tripod: Manfrotto MA 055XPROB Pro
light-weight 2,4kg (5,2 pounds) with all features like a professional tripod + the ability to get 10cm (0,3 feet) above the ground. Great for macro shots! We will love it.
manufacturers website: www.manfrotto.com
(the tripod in this video is the smaller brother of the 055XPROB, but nearly the same)
2) light-weight fluid video head: Manfrotto 701HDV Pro Fluid Video mini head
A tripod without a (good) head won’t do its job. I think there’s no need for explanation about this
manufacturers website: www.manfrotto.com
3) digital-timer cable trigger: Phottix Tr-90
We already own this little digital helper and I have to say: although it’s a no-name product, it does its job very well. You just have to set the duration between the releases and the shooting-quantity to get some really good time-lapse captures
manufacturers website: www.phottix.com
4) portable camera-dolly: Glidetrack Shooter
“The Glidetrack Shooter is the world’s first camera slider, that doubles up as a shoulder support. Glidetrack Shooter is perfect for the new breed of DSLR’s that can shoot video i.e. Canon 5d, 7d, Nikon D90, D3s etc.”

A little shop in the 3rd district of Vienna with lots of accessoires, gifts and well-designed home-stuff. We got in touch with the people there and took some photos of some products with our macro lens. The lightning was low (like in every store) but enough for some good shots:
if you want to get in touch with this lovely two-person crew check out:

I´m dreaming of a white christmas. I know, in times of global warming this might stay a dream for a really long time.
But why is it, that every year, just before christmas day, there is snow.
Lovely snow all over the city.
This time it was so very cold, that my fingers went numb within minutes and taking good pictures was a hard thing to do.
(“What ISO? I don´t care, I can´t turn the scroller anyway, my fingers are stiff!”)
People enjoyed their walk in a fast way. Cold cold cold.
And then why why why is it every year, that one day before christmas a rush of a warm weather front takes it all away?
Why? The one day of the year where a winter walk would be so totally different.
Where one could go outside, kiss snowflakes, tell the kids not to eat the yellow snow and come home to open presents in the warmth and be thankful?
I decided to be thankful anyway. We had snow. The time did not matter. In fact, if we as human kind go on like this, I might not be able to take a walk in the snow with my own kids. So at least I have pictures.

A foggy cold sunday and good lightning by the sun drives us to go out with the sigma 150mm marko for some hours.
The hot chocolate was a real pleasure for our cold lips

One of our favourite Pet/Bird/Aquaristic shops in Vienna is located in the Columbusg 27-29 in the 10th district. Most people in Vienna might think that the 10th district isn’t the most “likeable” place in town, but it’s a jump from the unterground metro U1 station “Keplerplatz” and if you need healthy fish and other pet stuff, it’s a good place!
Thanks to the lovely people who own this shop, we got the chance to take some pictures of fish and birds (through the gratings).

Sunday. After a well deserved sleep and breakfast at about 2 p.m. we decided it was about time to get some fresh air.
So grab the camera and out out out. We headed off at a random direction, wondering what will cross our way on the exploration.
To our excitement we found some very cute and special shops,
but due to the fact that it was sunday we were restrained to taking photos of the window display.
But we will get back there and have a post about these gorgeous locations too.
Until then have a look at some photos we took in the meantime.

Count Basic (not Count Basie – but the name is related to them) are an Austria R&B, trip-hop, acid jazz & smooth jazz band. Band Leader Peter Legat, the wonderful vocalist Kelli Sae (both working together for 13 years now) and a really really good band crew kicked our ass at the Gasometer to move to their groove beats and lovely melodies. Luckily we got the chance to take photos from the press box in front of the stage and it was great fun but also quite hard to shoot good photos, because of that low (sometimes red) light.
We enjoyed ourselves!
