The 70th Gift Show?! How come we´ve been missing this for so long?
A gift show. Nothing else but pleasant little (and big) things to charm you and others.
So you think this is about pens and rubbers?
Meeeeeep. Wrong.
I think we should all take a trip.
First work 3 years to afford the flight and the gift stuff, but then…
How about you?

As announced we checked out the comic market at Längenfeldgasse last sunday.
This kind of market takes place about three to four times a year and is highly frequented.
It was our first time to have a look however and it was astonishing how organized everything seemed.
The market took place in a school building. “Maybe not the best atmosphere for a occassion like this,” I thought. Everything around was brown and had a touch of the 70´s, bringing the feeling of a flea market with it.
At the entrance we were handed some goody bags. While I was looking inside my bag, I was almost trampled down by some Storm Troopers.
Yes, Storm Troopers. Followed by an alien guy (who surely has a name too) and Luke Skywalker who had a cup of coffee with him.
Now this brought a total different attitude to the whole thing. Suddenly this was no boring school anymore, rather than a mysterious headquarter of evil and good forces, all lining up to show and sell their toys. I smiled at the thought of one of these Storm Troopers sitting in his living room, all dressed in uniform and playing with his Imperial Star Destroyer and making sounds like “zoom bzzzzz bzzzz bzzz”.
What immideately took my whole attention was the merchandise stand. This is a brain-dead situation to me.
Oh, a Totoro figure. It´s mine. End of story. ;;^_^;;
Now if you have been collecting ANY kind of comic for the last 30 years or so and you just happen to miss this one particular piece in german, english, italian or elvish, then this is the place for you. The assortment is overwhelming, the number of likeable nerds with good information very high.
And last but not least I now share the bed with a Super Mario Star. Very soft that guy. What more could I want.

Count Basic (not Count Basie – but the name is related to them) are an Austria R&B, trip-hop, acid jazz & smooth jazz band. Band Leader Peter Legat, the wonderful vocalist Kelli Sae (both working together for 13 years now) and a really really good band crew kicked our ass at the Gasometer to move to their groove beats and lovely melodies. Luckily we got the chance to take photos from the press box in front of the stage and it was great fun but also quite hard to shoot good photos, because of that low (sometimes red) light.
We enjoyed ourselves!
